Still hurting...

Written as “Kidney Girl” on the original Cystinuria Blog · 1 min read

...but it's on and off. When it's off, it's more like low, and when it's on, it's as bad as it ever was.

I woke up at 4:00am this morning in searing pain. So I popped a dilaudid (I had downgraded to percocet), and an hour later the edge is off. I saw my urologist on Wednesday, and he said that my renal pelvis was enlarged a bit, but said it's probably bruising that's causing the real pain. Makes sense.

He also said the cyst doesn't look "dangerous" but he still wants me to get it checked out. Now that I'm having moments of clarity, I think I'll go ahead and schedule that appt with my gp. I've been putting it off. :/

The ct scan report said I have 6 small stones. 4 in the left kidney, 2 in the right, all 1mm. The ones in the right are probably left over from the procedure, and I have 3 new ones in my left kidney. He wants to do an ultrasound on them 3 months from now - if I make it that long. I'm gonna do everything I can to keep them small, especially because we will be moving around then.
